Not unlike the neighborhood social clubs of centuries past, the Dark Horse offers a gathering place in Defiance’s Historic Downtown. Surrounded by historic architecture and quaint neighborhoods and walking distance to shops and many historic sites, The Dark Horse is a beautiful gem nestled into a calm, quiet corner of a bustling city. We offer as fresh ingredients as possible. Locally farmed beef, artisanal meats and cheeses, whole romaine lettuce (not chemically treated), local jams and many homemade sauces. We make quiche nearly every day. Many of our soups are also made in house. Our flatbreads come in at under 30 carbs. We make our own red and white sauces and always feature a seasonal flavor! Most of our customers leave telling us the felt like they were on vacation. They just can’t believe “this is Defiance!” But it is Defiance! We love this place and we think you will too!
